Corns are small round areas of hard skin with a painful centre area . They are usually found on a bony area of your feet …your little toe or the ball of your feet . They are caused by friction or pressure . Tight or ill fitting shoes can cause corns – especially on the little toe . Corns on the ball of your feet might be caused by the way you walk or the type of activity you do . Be careful not to confuse Corns with Verruca _ to the untrained eye they can look very similar !
They can be easily and painlessly removed by a chiropodist – but be beware..if you continue to wear the same shoes they might come back !
I don’t usually recommend trying to get rid of them yourself with the treatments available in chemists – they contain strong acid and the acid can easily burn the skin and cause more pain !!
